24/07 :  A Short History

Years ago, I found a book called "Ariadne's Thread: A Workbook of Goddess Magic" by Shekhinah Mountainwater . I love the book. It's filled to the brim with empowering women's craft, spirituality, and references. I use it quite often. The other day, my friend Yarrow was over exploring my bookshelves for something new to read. She came across the book and asked if it were worth borrowing. I lied. I told her that it wasn't any good. The truth of it was, I needed it to make her birthday present. I hand-painted a set of 35 women's rune cards. It took me eight days to go through all the steps to make the deck. They turned out pretty neat. In fact, I'm exceptionally proud of them. She was thrilled with the gift.

Mari, my dear next-door sister, made the pouch to fit the deck and I blessed the whole set. Then I wrote a reference book for them. That took me eight hours to do.

I tell you how long it took, not to make you think I didn't enjoy it, but so that the next time I go to make them, I will have already figured out how to make it a hell of a lot easier on myself. I just look at it in the manner it was intended; with love. Anyway, I thought I'd post pictures under this category so you could see how well they all turned out. Some are...eh...okay while others are really cool. I hope you enjoy them.
