I was in the 20 items or less line at the local sprawl-mart. I had over 20 items but there was nobody behind me and the clerk said it was okay. I had half my stuff unloaded onto the counter when a lady with two items stepped up behind me.
"Aw man!" I explained guiltily. "I'm really sorry, there was nobody here when I started."
"It's okay," she replied. "I used to work here too. I know how it is. I have patience."
"Really?" I inquired devilishly. "You went into the medical field?"
"No," she said. "I used to work here."
I walked away smiling gleefully to myself.
